Domestic Transport Within the Netherlands

Pallet Transport

The most common pallet size is the Europallet (80x120cm):

Standard Europallet: €75 - €150 for shorter distances (under 100km), €150 - €250 for distances between 100-300km, and €250 - €400 for trips over 300km.
- Example: Moving a single Europallet of construction materials weighing 500kg from Amsterdam to Rotterdam (80km) could be around €100.
Heavier Pallets (over 1000kg): Expect to pay €150 - €300 for short distances, €300 - €500 for medium distances, and €500 - €700 for longer hauls.
- Example: Transporting three pallets of furniture, each weighing 1200kg, from Utrecht to Groningen (300km) might be around €550.

Factor in These Extra Costs:

Tailgate delivery: €25 - €50 per stop for direct unloading convenience.
Pallet jack loading/unloading: €25 - €50 per stop, if you lack equipment at either end.
Express delivery: For time-critical shipments, expect to pay 20-50% above standard rates.

Parcel & Package Transport

Shipping smaller items within the Netherlands is generally straightforward:

Small parcels (under 5kg): €5 - €10 nationally.
- Like: A 2kg document pouch from The Hague to Maastricht, figure about €8.
Medium parcels (5-20kg): €10 - €25 is the typical range.
- For Instance: A 10kg clothing box going from Amsterdam to Groningen, likely around €15.
Large parcels (over 20kg): €25 - €50 nationally, but size matters too, so get a quote!

Need It Now? Express or same-day delivery will at least double the cost, sometimes more.

Car Transport

Running cars: €150 - €250 for short distances, €250 - €400 for medium distances, and €400 - €600 for longer moves within the country.
- To Illustrate: Moving a working Opel Corsa from Utrecht to Groningen (300km) might be about €350.
Non-running cars: Breakdowns mean extra help: €200 - €350 for short distances, €350 - €550 for medium, and €550 - €800 for longer trips.
- A Typical Case: A broken-down Volkswagen Golf from Amsterdam to Maastricht (400km) could be around €600, needing a tow or winch.
Enclosed transport: Add €100 - €200 for protection from the elements or for more discreet transport.
Dedicated transport: If your car's the only cargo on the truck, expect a premium of €100 - €200.

Caravan/Trailer Transport

Towing: The budget-friendly option at €1 - €1.5 per kilometer. Your caravan MUST be roadworthy with current registration and insurance under the towing vehicle.
- For Example: A properly registered and maintained Hobby caravan towed from Amsterdam to Groningen (200km) might cost you around €250.
Transport on a specialized trailer: For those caravans not meant for the road, or if you prefer a dedicated trailer: €250 - €550 for shorter moves, and €550 - €800 for medium-range trips. Crane assistance for loading/unloading at either end will increase the cost.
- Example: Moving a non-roadworthy Fendt caravan from Rotterdam to Maastricht (400km) on a trailer might be around €700, potentially more if a crane is involved.

Special/Heavy Transport

Machinery, oversized goods, anything requiring specialized transport gets more complex:

Regular-sized machinery: €250 - €500 for short distances, €500 - €800 for medium distances, and €800 - €1200 for longer trips within the Netherlands.
- For Example: A small excavator traveling from Utrecht to Groningen (300km) might be around €600.
Oversized or extremely heavy cargo: Permits become essential, often route-specific, and escort vehicles may be mandatory.
- Typical Scenario: Transporting a massive construction machine from Amsterdam to Maastricht (400km), needing permits and escorts, you're quickly looking at €2000 - €5000, even higher for extreme cases.
Crane loading/unloading: If a crane's required, it's almost always billed hourly at €100 - €150 per hour.

International Transport (Originating in the Netherlands)

International Pallet Transport

Europe: Closer countries like Belgium or Germany: €250 - €600. Destinations further in: €600 - €1000 (France, Spain, Italy, etc.).
- Example: A pallet of electronics going from Amsterdam to Berlin could cost around €500.
Global: It gets very individualized; destination, weight/volume, air vs. sea freight all make huge differences.

International Car Transport

Within Europe: €600 - €1500 to neighbors, €1500 - €3500 for longer trips.
- Example: A running BMW from Amsterdam to Paris might be about €1200.
Worldwide: Containerized shipping, RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) vessels, customs... MANY variables impact the price.

International Caravan/Trailer Transport

Europe: €1000 - €2000 to neighboring nations, €2000 - €3500 for those longer European journeys.
- Example: Relocating a caravan from Amsterdam to Barcelona could be around €2500.
Tow vs. Dedicated Trailer: Towing can save money for road-legal caravans within Europe. Dedicated transport (on a trailer) gives you more security and often makes more sense for long distances or non-roadworthy units.

International Special/Heavy Transport

Complexity is Key: Permits, route planning, special equipment, escorts... Quotes will vary wildly.
- Think: A massive industrial machine from Rotterdam to Warsaw, with all the extras, could be €5000 - €12000 or higher.

International Boat Transport

Europe: Smaller boats (on trailers) within Europe will range from €1500 - €4000. Larger vessels, needing specific transport and permits, jump up to €4000 - €8500.
- To illustrate: A small sailboat from Amsterdam to Copenhagen might cost about €2500.
Globally: Size, type of boat, destination, how it's shipped (yacht carrier, container), customs... a complex equation.

Warehousing & Fulfilment

Storage: €1.75 - €10 per pallet per week, with location, pallet type (Euro, Block), and max height playing a role.
- Example: Storing 20 europallets near Amsterdam, expect around €70 per week.
Picking & Packing: €1.50 - €3.00 per individual item, or €2.00 - €8.00 per complete order, influenced by number of different products (SKUs) and order complexity.
- Like: An order with three distinct items picked and packed in Rotterdam, figure about €6 for the labor.
Shipping: Domestic starts around €5 - €10 for smaller packages. International shipping rates are all over the map depending on where it's going, weight, and speed of service.
Added Costs:
- Labeling: €0.20 - €0.50 per label, if not part of picking/packing.
- Returns handling: €2 - €5 per returned item adds up.
- Inventory management: May be included in storage or billed separately based on volume.
